This type of planning acts as a leading one in most cases. As any process it has its inputs, activities, outputs and outcomes. It includes two main stages – formulation and implementation. They, in turn, include other activities, such as analysis, strategy formation and goal setting (formulation) or structure, control & feedback (implementation). Managers also use a variety of tools to implement the idea of the pre-created strategy and to achieve a set goal. Among these instruments are PEST analysis, scenario planning, SWOT analysis, growth-share matrix etc.
